Derma fillers

The majority of dermal filler are composed of hyaluronic acid, a natural derivative of sugar already present in the body. Skin aging is caused by several factors including exposure to pollutants and UV rays, hormonal changes, decreased production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid as well as slowing the production of new cells for to name a few.

As the skin cells lose their ability to produce hyaluronic acid, the skin hardens and deepens the facial features. The synthesized hyaluronic acid-based fillers can then intervene. Injected under the skin, they can absorb more than a thousand times their weight in water, acting like a real sponge; ideal, therefore, to hydrate and balance the skin’s volume.

There are other forms of dermal fillers available on the market. These are part of the family of biostimulants. They work differently from volumizers in that they encourage the body to produce new cells to maximize collagen production and thereby rejuvenate the skin. Your injector will know what type of product to advise you according to your needs upon your consultation.
