Facial muscle relaxants or neuromodulators can treat dynamic wrinkles thanks to their targeted relaxing effect. Dynamic wrinkles are caused by constant muscle movement across the skin which has the effect of breaking the skin over time and create visible wrinkles even without movement.
The regions treated by neuromodulators are multiple. Interestingly, several treated areas are named after animals like lion’s wrinkle (vertical lines between the eyebrows), crow’s feet (around the side of the eyes) and bunny lines (on either side of the nose)! Other areas are also treated with neuromodulators, such as the jaws, to slim down the lower face or relieve teeth grinding. The neck and décolleté are also areas that we can treat with muscle relaxants!
How does it work?
After completing your medical consultation to ensure that your state of health allows the injections, the strength of the muscles in the areas to be treated will be evaluated by the doctor who will judge the doses necessary to obtain a natural and effective result. The treatment is done by small injections into the precise muscles that cause the dynamic wrinkles in your face or neck. The session lasts only a few minutes and is practically painless.
What to expect?
The results are not immediate. Indeed, depending on the product chosen, the muscles will take between 3 and 14 days to reach maximum relaxation. Touch-ups may be necessary if some muscle fibers are still too active after treatment. Alterations are free of charge and will make your treatment a success. Please do not hesitate to let us know 2 weeks after your treatment if you are not having the desired results, if you observe a small asymmetry or for any other adjustment deemed necessary. These small touch-ups will make all the difference and only take a few minutes to perform.
The injections may cause swelling, bruising, discomfort and redness. These minor side effects normally last a few hours but can last a little longer in some cases. Plan your social events accordingly and don’t hesitate to ask us for advice before and after your treatments; we have a few tricks up our sleeves to minimize some of these side effects in some cases.
